I don’t often review products and services, unless they are exceptionally good, or exceptionally bad. My experience of Go Alpes was probably the worst service experience of my life. It was truly, spectacularly terrible. 1. On the airport to resort journey, my flight was delayed. This triggered a small (Euro 33) additional charge. On arrival - well after 10pm, with two small children - the driver insisted on immediate payment. My phone had died and he could not take care, so he essentially marched me to a cash machine and would not leave without it. I paid a thousand Euros for this return transfer and most certainly did not expect to be treated like this. It was hugely unwelcome, totally unnecessary, and embarrassing. 2. Compared to the return journey, the arrival transfer was a pleasure. The return journey went as wrong as you could possibly imagine. First, the driver contacted me at 10:30pm the day before the pick up to suggest making it an hour earlier. I had already made the transfer 2 hours earlier at the suggestion of Go Alpes’ booking office. Next, the driver arrived 2 hours late. This was seemingly because of an accident resulting in a closed road (and I appreciate that sometimes things happen which cannot be controlled). Communication around this delay was utterly hopeless. At the planned pick up time the driver send me a screen print of his Sat nav showing he was an hour away. We had already checked out of our accommodation and so spent what turned out to be two hours standing in a corridor with all our bags and two impatient children. The driver didn’t speak a word of English and was very aggressive and stressed by the time he arrived. The experience was actually scary. It was almost impossible to get information on what was happening. The office - when I got hold of them - tried to blame me for the driver being late, because I did not accept the earlier pick up suggestion. That suggestion came far too late and we had already planned for what the company told us. Also, had the driver not been late, we would have been fine. To make matters worse, the driver had forgotten the child seats, so this was not even a safe trip. That is unforgivable for a private transfer company. Last, but not least, the “free WiFi” in the vehicle did not exist, either. It seems almost petty commenting on this, given the utter, utter shambles of the whole expensive experience. This return trip went a good way to spoiling what was otherwise an enjoyable trip. I will be renting a car next time and would not go anywhere near this company. I am sure that they have good drivers and are often fine, but that’s not what I experienced. They refunded - without me asking - Euro 100 for the lack of child seats, but that does not make up for all of this. I really, really wanted this service to just be “fine” and workout incident. It was very expensive but I didn’t need it to be fantastic. I just needed it to do what it said on the booking. To say they fell short is does not do any justice to how bad this experience was…
